Youth Trips

City Kayak offers custom designed and private kayak trips.

Youth Trips are ideal for

- youth camps
- school groups
- sports teams
- birthday parties

Youth trips are designed for children ages 12 and older. The usual route is the protected calm waters of McCovey Cove and Mission Creek. For older or more experienced youth, we may extend the trip by paddling to the Bay Bridge and Cupid’s Arrow.

Costs
$29 per person for 2 hour trips (1 hour paddling)
$39 per person for 3 hour trips (2 hours paddling)

* Additional charge will be applied for longer trips.
* Tax and 15% gratuity for the guides will be added to the total charge.
* There is a 10 people minimum on youth trips.
* 50% deposit at booking and the balance is due 7 days before.

 

Reservation
You can make a reservaton using the reservation inquiry form, by phone, or via email. You should book as early as you can because we start filling the calendar months in advance. We can't run a trip if a guide is not available or the time slot is full.

Cancellations receive refunds based on the following schedule:
7 days prior to trip- 100% refund
6 days prior to trip- 80% refund
5 days prior to trip- 60% refund
4 days prior to trip- 40% refund
3 days prior to trip- 20% refund
2 days or less prior to trip do not receive refunds.

Changes to trip dates and/or itinerary can be made 7 days prior to trip date with no charge. Changes within 7 days will incur a surcharge between 10% to 50% depending on the severity of the change and the number of days prior to the trip.

Location
Most kayak trips launch from South Beach Harbor, which is at the intersection of The Embarcadero and Townsend.

2 hour visitor parking is located in the front of the pier. Parking permit can be purchased at the South Beach Harbor for $10 a day ($30 for San Francisco Giants game day).

Things to Bring
Clothes that you don’t mind getting wet, bottled water, sun protection, waterproof camera

Storage cubicles and baggage check-in is available, but please leave your valuables at home. City Kayak is not responsible for any lost or stolen items.
